It's been a long time since we've written...

...but that's a good thing. We've been busy with folks fishing 1/2 days and full days. As you know, we have been also busy opening our new property in Tamarindo. www.TamarindoMirador.com That has absorbed a lot of time, hence our lack of frequent posts here. We have been fishing a lot this year, and every day out has been an adventure; of course, there's been some days that have been long & hard, and even some days with nothing; but as I look back over my calendar of who's been with us; I primarily see good numbers of billfish, mainly Sails, with more and more Mahi's being caught as the year progresses. The Tuna have been pretty slim until recently, where the numbers have been abundant, we have of course conserved, capping ourselves at 8 per day. The Marlin bite was strong in May and July. When there are Sails around, we're raising 6 - 10, and catching & releasing 1/2 of that amount. The Mahi have been slowing working there way in, and with the increasing rainfall, and estuaries dropping the valuable debris in the water, their numbers should increase. The wahoo's still haven't shown their fins on our boat, but there are a few being caught in the area - just a matter of time. The inshore bite has continued to be a good backup plan, with numerous grouper, snapper and Roosters being caught. I hope to make a few posts more often, but if you don't hear from us, let us hear from you! www.GoFishCR.com

Guanacaste, long known as the best Central American fishing destination is living up to that title once again. Looking Good!

Christopher and Melissa Harbuck spent the day with Go Fish and all was well with the world. We found nice blue water, light winds and some fish. Early in the day we came across a nice pair of big sails and brought them behind the boat for some action. An hour or so later we found the man in the blue jacket. heading south in front of Playa Azul our starboard teaser was massacred by a 350 + pound blue that just couldn't find a hook. Chris' mouse trap pattern kept the monster in the spread for 3 more passes. Sometimes the big boys rule the party whether you like it not! Everyone had a shot on reel with some tuna and a good was had by all. We'll report back for tomorrow's trip.

Tight Lines,
Chris, Peter and the Go Fish Team.

Randall Pittman and Company

August brought some action for Randall Pittman and company. Day 1 we went 1 for 3 blue marlin and a near miss nice sized sail. Lots of knock-downs but we seemed to run in to the fish with a commitment issue. Day 2 we covered a lot of water and came home with a good sized wahoo for dinner.

Thanks for a great trip guys and we are looking forward to the opportunity to fish with you again!

Bobby Breaux and Company

The August bite remains hot and Bobby Breaux Company got to experience the beauty of Costa Rica fishing. Day one took us off shore where we found beautiful blue water, a nice striped marlin up and hooked for a moment, 4 sails up with 2 90 + pound sails released and a nice 25 pound mahi for dinner.

Day 2 brought some inshore fishing for the morning where the guys tackled a 50 pound Amber Jack on a 3 pound skip jack tuna. From there we ventured off shore to search for the big guys again. With a slight change in water color the action slowed a bit from the day prior. We did however hook in to a huge 600 pound + Blue Marlin that unfortunately spit the hook after an incredible run and freight train jumping display.

Thanks a million to Bobby and company and we're looking forward to seeing you guys again soon!

Chris and Lisa Wooten Ted and Tammy

August is offering Anglers some great fishing and our trip with Chris, Lisa, Ted and Tammy was no exception. Day one brought us a very nice sized sail, a wahoo bite, mahi bite and nice sized Marlin raised. Day 2 brought a couple of sails up and another one released. We couldn't have asked for a better group of people to fish with and look forward to the opportunity to fish with these guys again.

Day 1 with Travis Herbert and Company

Our fist day of 2 fishing with Travis and Holly Hebert and John and April Gold was remarkable! The group was privy to great conditions and some awesome fishing. We started the day with a couple of small Dorado and needle fish in shore. Moving off shore brought us a very nice sail fish tag teamed by Travis and John and big Blue Marlin to cap off the day. A grand slam of sorts - we'll see what tomorrow brings.

Mr. Garrett, Matt and Lucas fishing on Go Fish

We had a great couple of days with the Garretts. Day one delivered a several bill fish in the spread and a very nice 50 pound bull mahi. Day 2 brought a nice marlin hook up however a lucky jump broke him off. We look forward to fishing them again with the opportunity arises. Thanks for a great trip guys!

June has been excellent so far!

June has been excellent so far!
Jimmy and Barbara Watkins, Jordan Ellis and Ian Gough joined us for a couple of days of fishing and lots of excitement. The fishing in front of Tamarindo as been excellent. Jordan and Ian landed a 500 pound blue marlin on Wednesday and Jimmy landed a very nice sized sail on Thursday. With the releases recorded, the number of marlin and sails up behind the boat was very impressive. Each day multiple marlin and multiple sails kept everyone on the edge of their seat. With little summer just now arriving we are stoked to see what lies ahead.

Steve Carey and Family Saw Great Action

With the water cleaning up in the wake of the recently passed tropical storm, the North pacific was on fire with pelagic action. We started the morning with a nice sized Mahi released and continued on to hook 2 marlin, 1 near marlin miss, and 1 sail hook up. Being able to fish out in front Tamarindo allows for short runs to perfect water. A mid day meal of Macadamia nut chicken salad sandwiches and fresh fish tacos made the day even sweeter! A great family of anglers and new friends. Come on back guys when you have the chance.

The Fishing is hot with multiple BIG marlin behind the boat. Let's go fishing! visit us at www.GoFishCR.com now to book your trip.
