Chris Johnson
Chris and Crew From Texas
2-Day Wrap Up
2-Day Wrap Up
We had a great time with Chris,Pam, Mark, Stacy, Carl and Deborah. It always nice to fish with a group that loves the sport and who knows how to have a good time. Thank you very much guys and thank you for supporting the CCA!
We were faced with windy conditions on day one but had 3 sails in the spread, hooked 2 and released 1. A nice 90 - 95 pound sail expertly angled and safely released. Way to go Chris! We missed a sneaky mahi or wahoo out there in the wild blue yonder as well.
Day 2 was considerably calmer and overcast. We tried our hand in-shore in the morning on the reef and quickly hooked up with a few black fin tuna and sent them down for bait. 2 good sharks bites got the better half of our mono but provided some excitement. We headed off shore and raised one sail amidst a sea of dolphin and diving birds. With the bill fish bite slow we headed back in shore and hooked, landed and released a 60 - 65 pound rooster and took home small yellow fin tuna.
Thanks again to the Texas crew and we look forward to fishing with you again.
